Last week, Montblanc announced its expensive-as-hell Android smartwatch, the £1,040 Summit 2+ – with cellular connectivity, as a treat. Now the company is following that up with plush, noise-cancelling Bluetooth headphones that seem like a bargain by comparison, at £525. Read More >>

I Can’t Get Enough of Bowers & Wilkins’ Freaky Carbon Fibre Headphones

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call Bowers & Wilkins headphones iconic. The recognisable chrome and leather design always drew me in, almost by whispering, “These are the fancy ones.” For reasons I cannot comprehend, Bowers & Wilkins recently trashed that great design and replaced it with an unexpected combination of carbon fibre and fabric. The new headphones are unique and they’re amazing. Read More >>

Sony’s Cheaper Noise-Cancelling Headphones Are an Instant Classic

Sony just released a more affordable set of noise-cancelling headphones called the WH-XB900N. The new wireless headphones sell for £230 and are an update to the company’s popular MDR-XB950BT Extra Bass headphones. At the same time, they also represent a cheaper version of Sony’s excellent £330 WH-1000XM3 noise-cancelling headphones. From afar, Sony’s more affordable new noise-cancelling headphones look almost identical to the price model. Up close, it’s evident that they’re not as good as Sony’s flagship, and that doesn’t matter to me at this price. Read More >>

Jabra Changed How Noise-Cancelling Headphones Work, and I Like It

It was exciting when Jabra announced its latest Bluetooth headphones at CES earlier this year. The £279.99 Jabra Elite 85h look like a beefed-up version of the company’s well-reviewed Move wireless headphones, and inside there’s an intriguing surprise: artificially intelligent noise-cancelling technology that learns your routines and adjusts the feature accordingly. It sounds weird and almost like a gimmick, but after spending nearly a month testing the new Jabra headphones, I have to admit that I like them. Read More >>

Sony Continues to Drink Bose’s Milkshake

If you listen to what Sony says, you could assume that the third generation of the Sony 1000X wireless headphones is all about better noise cancelling. This wouldn’t be a wrong assumption. The company managed to make its famous noise-cancelling headphones cancel even more noise. But what caught my attention is how much more comfortable they are. This is a sassy upgrade, since Sony’s major competitor, Bose, put “comfort” in the name of its headphones. Read More >>

AKG K495 NC Lightning Review: Hot-Sounding, Road-Ready, Noise-Cancelling Headphones

Toting headphones back and forth across the country (or the city) is one of the best ways to expose their design flaws. Can the new AKG K495 NC noise-cancelling headphones, with their burly build and audiophile pedigree, stand up that kind of punishment while delivering dulcet tones?
